The Course
The Lake to Lagoon provides a unique experience with a course that combines closed streets through Wagga Wagga with riverside track along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River.
The Lake to Lagoon Starts at Apex Park Lake Albert. From the start, the course heads north along East Lake Drive and then on to Lake Albert Road. Continuing north along Lake Albert Road, there are two drinks stations along the gentle incline through Kooringal bringing participants to the highest point as we pass the “Top Shop” opposite the intersection with Lord Baden Powell Drive. From here it’s a gentle downhill along Lake Albert Road before turning right into Copland St heading east down to Kooringal Road, with another drinks station along the way. At this point the course heads off road along the track beside Marshalls Creek, going under the Sturt Highway and joining up with the track along the riverbank of the mighty Murrumbidgee River. The course heads towards town going downstream beside the river before coming down off the riverbank into Small St where the final drinks station is located. From Small St the course then turns right onto Tarcutta St which provides the final straight down to the finish at the Civic Precinct at the Wollundry Lagoon.
